Knee Pain
How to take the journey away from nagging and frustrating knee pain and stiffness, avoiding continuous pills or risky surgery – and there is no need to see your GP first
Knee Pain
Knee pain can be highly frustrating for people who come to the clinic because it affects their mobility so much. If you’re a sports person, a keen walker or just want to get out in the garden, you want to do it without knee pain. Although it seems like a simple hinge joint, the knee still has many causes to why it hurts. Some of these are caused by:
- Age changes of the knee reducing the cushion of the knee (cartilage)
- Ligament injuries.
- Pressure soreness from kneeling causing inflammation to the cushions of the knee
- Tears in the surrounding muscles.
- Overusing muscles that get sore or achey.
These can be on their own or with a mixture of them
If you book with us then we will assess your knee to determine the cause, how long to get it better and listen to what you would like to get back to, so we are working towards your goal.
If you are ready to start the recovery journey, click on the Book now button and book yourself in directly to one of our therapists diaries.
What we will do:
- Assess the problems affecting your knee and map out a plan
- Ensure they work with you at different stages to help you out of pain and back to being active.
- Avoid rest and wait approach, instead modify and engage
- Working the movements that will get back to what is important.

Posted on Andrew CorkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Richard has been treating me since 2001 (believe it or not) and he's brilliant. Basically you go along to see him with a problem, and he makes it better. Maybe it takes a few visits and it certainly takes some work on my part. But there hasn't been a physio need that I've had that he hasn't solved. He's particularly good at sorting me out when I end up doing stupid things to myself skiing. I've lost count of the no of times he has fixed me up! Thanks so much Richard!Posted on Rosa BaroneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After trying to get a physio appt in Blandford, and getting no responses at all from emails or voice messages sent to local businesses, Richard Goddard at the The Wimborne Clinic was recommended to me by a friend. I contacted the clinic and their response was immediate. An appointment was made and Richard immediately identified the problem, started treatment and gave me exercises to do between appointments. Very impressed overall, and I can definitely recommend Richard, and the Wimborne Clinic, to anyone in the Blandford or Wimborne area.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. “After suffering with persistent knee pain for several weeks, I had tried cortisone injections, been to to the Dr’s and could just see my garden getting overgrown. Since starting my treatment I have now returned to my normal walks and the biggest difference is I’m back in my garden and enjoying it again! Thanks for all your help and I know where to come in the future…”
